We are thrilled to announce that Liam Bairstow, a renowned actor from Coronation Street, will be joining the line-up of esteemed award presenters. Liam Bairstow is a learning-disabled artist, performer, and facilitator who has been captivating audiences with his professional performances since 2013.
Liam's impressive career includes national and international stage performances with Mind the Gap, one of the UK's leading disability arts organisations. Since 2015, he has become a familiar face on the popular television series Coronation Street, where he has endeared himself to fans with his compelling portrayal of Alex Warner.
Liam's recent work showcases his versatility and dedication to the arts. In 2019, he participated in "Zara," a giant outdoor spectacle in collaboration with Walk the Plank. From 2014 to 2017, he toured internationally with "Contained," a dynamic performance exploring the lives of learning-disabled artists. His earlier work includes the 2013 production of "Treasure Island."
Beyond his acting career, Liam is also a trained facilitator, delivering a wide range of workshops that empower and inspire participants. His commitment to advocacy is evident in his role as an ambassador for MENCAP, a leading charity for people with learning disabilities. Liam frequently speaks at conferences, sharing his experiences and championing the rights and talents of learning-disabled individuals.
At the upcoming event, Liam Bairstow will be joining Christine Talbot on stage to present the Charitable Excellence Award. This award holds special significance, as the recipient will not only be recognised for their outstanding charitable contributions but will also become the designated charity for 2025.
