The Awards are searching for those that demonstrate that through adversity and courage, light can shine through in so many different ways.
They may have saved lives or changed lives through their own story or highlighted a local charity by fundraising.
Some may have overcome adversity, whilst others are just the best in their field.
As a people's choice awards, you not only choose who is nominated but also who wins!
They could be someone you know, or someone whose achievements you admire.
Previous winners include Evolve Psychology Services based in Harrogate, who won Independent Business of the Year 2022.
After receiving their award on Friday 6th May said 'We are super super honoured to have won!! Officially, Evolve Psychology Services is the Yorkshire Choice Awards Independent Business of the Year 2022!! Thank you so much to all that voted. A Public vote award means so much to us'.
Rob Burrow MBE is one of an estimated 5,000 adults in the UK currently living with motor neurone disease - every day, an average of six people are diagnosed with MND. Rob received the Special Recognition Award for his bravery and determination in tackling and raising awarness of this debilitating illness.
