LMB Group to turn charities dream into reality

The 6th April will always be remembered with found memories for local M&E contractor LMB Group for several reasons. Is was a very successful evening for the group as they were crowned Independent Business of the Year at this years Yorkshire Choice Awards and they were also finalists in the Business Man of the Year category where their Managing Director Andrew Bean made the final shortlist.

The evening saw businesses from all over the Yorkshire region come together to acknowledge and celebrate their respective successes. This year the Yorkshire Choice Awards selected Bethany’s Smile as their chosen charity of 2019.The charity was formed by Bethany Hare back in 2011, at the age of 12 years old. It was her Charlie Chaplin style film ‘smile’ that received global media coverage that prompted Bethany to start the charity after donations poured in from all around the world.

It was listening to Bethany’s story that evening on the 6th of April that prompted LMB Group Manging Director Andy Bean, to reach out to Bethany to offer his services for her next inspirational project.

Andy said “Bethany has done a remarkable job with the charity for such a young age and she’s such an inspiration to many people. We were all on a high after winning our award and I was sat listening to Bethany’s story and what her dreams for the charity are. The cottage retreat sounds such a fantastic idea and as I soon as Bethany mentioned it, I just said to myself we’ve got to help”

Bethany’s Smile is looking to raise £300,000, so the charity can purchase a property or land on the East Coast overlooking the sea, where families whose children have life threatening illnesses can go and spend quality time together, Bethany commented “It’s always been my dream to have a place where families can go, enjoy their time together and try and forget about the stresses of everyday life their illnesses can cause. I can’t wait to get this project off the ground and have it completed so we can see the impact it can have on these amazing children”

Bethany met LMB Managing Director Andy Bean this week to discuss the project in hand and was left amazed by the generosity of the Cleckheaton based business, she said “I’m so grateful to Andy Bean, Steve Mortimer, Billy Bingham and everyone at LMB Group for reaching out to Bethany’s Smile and turning my dream of Smile Cottage into a reality, I appreciate it so much. I am still in shock at this utterly amazing news. I love that the cottage is going be in Yorkshire helped by an amazing local Yorkshire Business. I just need to find the perfect location and hopefully we can commence the works sooner rather than later”
